Basic Purpose: Broadly responsible for supporting on time delivery of finished goods to customer orders through the management of master production scheduling and achievement of material continuity to the plant. Coach and lead the supply chain team within the Plant. Contribute as an active member of the Plant Leadership Team.

Essential Responsibilities / Specific Duties:

Setting Direction

  • Focus on putting the Customer first through asset reliability, schedule adherence/attainment and a full respect of the S&OP process expectations.
  • In partnership with Plant Leadership Team, prioritize and help drive strategic initiatives for the site through the development of innovative manufacturing strategies in alignment with key performance indicators.   Ensure initiatives are executed in an agile, efficient, and prudent manner.
  • Oversee plant-based systems and master data set-ups.
  • Lead cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety and general occupational safety standards, quality specifications, local and governmental environmental requirements.
  • Actively participates in and supports all safety and quality initiatives with in plant.

Driving Results with a Sense of Urgency

  • Oversee a short/medium term production model based on sales, forecast, inventory, and capacity customer demands and enable efficient. operations by ensuring an efficient, detailed production schedule.
  • Interface with Corporate Inventory and Corporate Demand Planning to identify and resolve key capacity constraints leading to customer demands.
  • With Business Development and Marketing, ensure that all product launches and changes are delivered on time.
  • Develop and achieve monthly/annual KPIs to monitor plant and supply chain performance.
  • Lead inventory integrity/accuracy initiatives.
  • Define, direct and execute innovative and aggressive cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives related to the manufacturing process.

  • Active people developer that recognize the importance of supporting the Individual Development and Succession/Talent Review processes to develop organizational capability.
  • Lead by example and challenge, inspire the Planning team to support the deliver of Plant Operational Plan.
  • Conduct and ensure the timely completion of performance reviews.
  • Ensure employees adhere to legal, ethical and operational compliance requirements.
  • Set expectations for training and development of team directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions.
  • Provide coaching, direction and leadership support to employees in order to achieve employee, company and customer results.

Knowledge & Key Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Materials Management, Engineering or related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior experience and knowledge of ERP systems as it pertains to MPS/MR.   APICS certification a plus.
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience, preferably within the food industry with demonstrated ability in managing and coaching a team.
  • Ability to set direction through business acumen, strategic agility and dealing with ambiguity.
  • Can inspire and influence by motivating others.
  • Act with integrity and trust.
  • Drive results with timely decision making, command and negotiating skills, and can deliver results through people.
  • Operate with a sense of urgency being action oriented and exhibiting perseverance
  • Must be able to manage a highly demanding environment and cope with the needs of a 24/7 operation.
