On behalf of our client, Dynamic Machine Corporation, we are recruiting a Sales Manager located in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Dynamic Machine Corporation is a modern industrial manufacturing, repair and supply company with a fully equipped machine shop capable of dealing with projects of any size. They have been serving national and international clients since 1970, both by building and repairing all types of custom and general product and by selling, servicing and repairing all brands of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. They provide onsite and in-shop service to general contractors, steel mills, hydro companies, mines and other customers across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Northwestern Ontario and the Northern United States.

Reporting to the President, the Sales Manager will be responsible for leading the sales team by guiding, training and mentoring the sales team, setting sales goals, creating sales plans and managing the sales function. The Sales Manager will be a solid leader who has a proven track record as a hands-on professional, proficient in achieving growth and hitting sales targets to meet the needs of the organization.

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the overall productivity and effectiveness of the sales function
  • Achieve sales growth, maintain profit and deliver strategic objectives of the company
  • Achieve sales targets by successfully managing and working with the sales team
  • Organize joint calls with the sales team and strategic partners, including coworkers and suppliers
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans, forecasting and budgeting that expands company’s customer base and ensures its strong presence
  • Proactively identify opportunities for sales process improvement
  • Hire, train, coach, develop high-performing salespeople to ensure success and maintain high employee engagement
  • Manage day-to-day performance of all sales team members and deliver reviews
  • Lead and schedule periodic team meetings with the sales team and leadership
  • Personally supervise large accounts with the operations manager
  • Track sales team metrics and reporting data to leadership on a regular basis
  • Ensure high level of customer service, strong client relationships and positive company branding
  • Direct involvement with customer complaint resolution; solving issues immediately when identified
  • Maintain effective lines of communication with the Dynamic Machine Corporation divisions
  • Prepare reports relative to activity, orders, closings, follow-up, customer churn and sales performance
  • Report on special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity, including recommendations for product, service, pricing changes and evaluation of competitive developments. 
  • Spend a significant amount of time on the road with the sales team making joint calls

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in the areas of business, sales or other relevant education and experience
  • 5 – 10 years of sales experience, including management, preferably in the industrial manufacturing industry
  • Strong account management and sales ability
  • Experience in leading accounts / account managers and managing overall account profitability
  • Demonstrate effective leadership, team building, motivational and coaching qualities and excels in working as part of a high functioning, collaborative team
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills with ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions and provide strategic advice and recommendations
  • Well-developed communication and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic systems and pneumatics in both new equipment and maintenance would be a definite asset
