Role Summary:

Providing much more than administrative support, law clerks, with their legal eagle eye for details, are an instrumental part of LarsenLaw & Associates. Law clerks assist lawyers in research and the preparation of legal documents. The clerk also maintains client records and files from initial intake to final matter closure. Clerks with commissioning appointment administer oaths, take affidavits, sign legal documents and perform other activities according to the limitations of their appointment.


Assists lawyers in a wide range of clerical, administrative and legal duties including drafting of letters to clients, solicitors or other parties and to assist with telephone inquiries

  • Research records, court files and other legal document
  • Research and analyze law sources to prepare drafts of briefs or arguments for review, approval, and use by attorney
  • Prepare legal documents, court reports and affidavits of documents and maintain document files and case correspondence
  • Review and file pleadings, petitions and other documents relevant to court actions
  • Prepare real estate closing statements and manage closing process
  • Deliver or direct delivery of subpoenas to witnesses and parties to action
  • Serve copies of pleas to opposing counsel
  • Communicate and arbitrate disputes between parties
  • Appraise and inventory real and personal property for estate planning
  • Store, catalog,and maintain currency of legal volumes
  • Record keeping
  • Interviewing of clients and required parties as directed by senior law clerk or lawyer
  • Draft contracts, prepare promissory notes and draw up wills, mortgages and other legal documents
  • Administer oaths and take affidavits and depositions
  • Witness and certify the validity of signatures on documents
  • Other special projects as assigned
