The Senior Network and Infrastructure Engineer is a member of IT/ASP Technology Team. This role will have primary responsibilities for the deployment, maintenance and on-going management of the server environments. This will include working with Linux, UNIX, Windows, Networking, Firewall, Load Balancer, Oracle, WebLogic, Tomcat, Java server (32/64 bit) environment. Will perform pro-active monitoring of the environment, present and implement pro-active strategies to address trends and perform complex problem determination on various information technologies including: Linux RedHat RHEL 6/7, UNIX, Windows, VMWare, SAN / EqualLogic, Networking, Firewall, Load Balancer environment and also includes after hours on-call support.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day support of all IT networking systems, including all operational procedures such as device patching, backup, and monitoring 
  • Hands on day-to-day management of security and network devices
  • Perform on-going maintenance and management of the server, switch, SAN and VMWare environments
  • Bring domain expertise in the areas of Virtualization (VMWare / OpenStack / Cloud), Unix, Linux
  • Perform complex problem determination to identify and address issues
  • Monitor, manage and plan capacity of the responsible technology stack
  • Participate in on-call rotation
  • Act as a technical expert for other IT teams regarding network technologies (routing, switching, firewalling and intrusion prevention)
  • Address architectural, systems performance, capacity, and reliability issues associated with IT projects and initiatives where required
  • Consult on IT technical solution development
  • Participate in the evaluation of proposed systems and applications to determine information security or data integrity implications
  • Develop and maintain distributed automated information technology security monitoring and reporting mechanisms
  • Develop and maintain various information technology network security control systems such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, intrusion prevention systems, wireless networks, virtual private networks, and network account access; analyze log files, and report breaches including potential solutions
  • Monitor network traffic activity company-wide
  • Assist colleagues and staff, company-wide, in troubleshooting and resolving network and network security issues

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor degree in computer science
  • Strong experience with management and implementation of Switches, Servers, Cabling, Racks, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, Latency, VoIP, QoS, Virtualization, vMotion, Storage (EqualLogic) 
  • Network certifications, Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert - CCIE preferred
  • Proven experience in developing and executing plans, meeting deadlines and operating under tight time constraints
  • Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in IT working in the area of security and network implementations
  • Experience with scripting and programming languages such as Bash, Perl, MySQL, HTML, JavaScript etc.
  • Experience with designing/ implementing networks and related security devices
  • Knowledge of Firewall/Checkpoint/IPTables/Fortigate technologies and Load Balancer/F5 technologies
  • Ability to work in a cross functional environment with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to provide guidance to team members on projects and problem analysis
  • Ability to initiate and participate in internal projects in support of strategic and operational goals
  • Hands on experience in managing HA environment


  • Some travel to the US may be required
