Staff Accountant

We are a full service accounting firm providing services such as audits, compilations, Corporate and Personal Income Taxes, bookkeeping, payroll, HST and consulting. Our goal is to provide clients the support, services and tools to assist them in achieving their objectives and implementing solutions to tax and business issues.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparation of financial statements
  • Full cycle bookkeeping including A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations, payroll, HST, and preparing financial statements
  • Preparation of personal income tax returns and corporate tax returns
  • Audit & review of financial statements
  • Research memos
  • Assist clients with CRA audits

Skills and Specifications

  • Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word and Outlook; intermediate knowledge of Excel
  • Knowledge of TaxPrep is an asset
  • Should have excellent organizational skills, communication skills and leadership qualities
  • The person should be enthusiastic about the challenges of the job
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in an environment requiring discretion and confidentiality

Education and Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-2 years of audit experience
  • Minimum University Degree in business or related, with a specialty in accounting
  • Strong understanding of full cycle accounting
