We are celebrating our 23rd year and looking for an energetic, outgoing Volunteer Assistant to join the team. The Volunteer Assistant position reports to the Volunteer Committee Co-Chairs.

Responsibilities:

  • Help to maintain volunteer data in Salesforce.com
  • Assist the Volunteer Co-Chairs in the recruitment of students and of groups from designated organizations
  • Assist the Volunteer team to distribute volunteer t-shirts during the Festival Orientation on the evening of Wednesday August 29th
  • Assist the Volunteer Co-Chairs during the Festival to check in volunteers and deploy them to required locations during the Festival (Thursday August 30th through Monday September 3rd inclusive)
  • Help the Volunteer Team to deliver food to the designated areas for volunteers during the Festival
  • Provide additional administrative support to the Volunteer Committee as required

Required qualifications:

  • Registered as a full time student during the preceding academic year
  • Intends to return to school on a full time basis during the next academic year
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in working with spreadsheets, text documents and the internet
  • Ability to easily approach business managers, charitable organization managers, etc. during the recruitment process
  • Ability to show tact and diplomacy when dealing with outside organizations, volunteers and club members

Term of Contract:

The Volunteer Assistant is a contract position for thirty (30) hours per week beginning Monday, July 16th, 2018 and ending Monday, September 3rd, 2018.
