This position is responsible for ensuring and verifying product quality by following established standards and best practices for Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and QA Life Cycle. This position helps to ensure that product releases follow defined release criteria and that released products adhere to quality metrics. This is a cross-functional team position working with others to effectively gain the best possible customer focused result.

  • Have a clear understanding of what true quality means.
  • Develop test plans, test cases and time estimates, including, but not limited to: developing testing plans, test cases, and test environments.
  • Execute test cases and document results based on the system requirements, functional and technical specifications.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance standards and processes; identifying improvements.
  • Test clinical workflows in an ambulatory health care setting.
  • Test the entire system, or functionality of subsystems and their interactions with other subsystems, including user interface
  • Reproduce customer-reported defects and generate defect reports.
  • Help others understand what is being tested.
  • Understand the discipline of testing and how to effectively implement a testing phase and updating others with a progress report.
  • Participate in requirements and specifications reviews.
  • Discover and document defects, usability issues and non-adherence to specifications.
  • Validate and document completion of testing and development.
  • Verify fixes, code changes and overall releases.
  • Improve software operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes.
  • Be an inspired problem solver who is enthusiastic about developing high-quality software and making a difference.
  • Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience utilizing clinical IT systems within a clinical practice or 5+ years of experience as a Business/Systems Analyst in a medical field.
  • Strong experience with healthcare business processes.
  • Must have a solid understanding of clinical quality.
  • Proactive mindset, anticipating before problems and challenges appear.
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies tools and associated development a plus.
  • A proven track record of finding hidden or non-obvious issues.
  • An ability to improve UI, usability and the User Experience (UX).
  • Ability to develop test plans, user stories and test scripts.
  • Experience in drilling down into difficult problems to find root causes.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities in a fast paced environment.
  • Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Versed in all the testing disciplines including Unit Testing, Functional Testing and Acceptance Testing.
  • Proactive mindset, anticipating before problems and challenges appear.
  • An ability to explain complex technical concepts to the non-technical.
  • A demonstrable ability to show continuous improvement in abilities, quantity of output and quality of deliverables.
  • Excellent team player with skills to effectively communicate with a diverse team.
  • Must be ability to handle conflict, difficult situations, and urgent issues in a professional manner.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and good follow through skills who displays a passion to test and deliver high quality software.
