Position Summary

This is a rare opportunity to join a single family office with a growing diversified portfolio. The candidate is responsible for assisting with all aspects of corporate accounting and taxation, financial reporting and finance. The successful candidate would be a detail-oriented, focused, self-starter who takes charge, collaborates and makes valuable input, contributing to a senior level decision-making team. This position will require you to wear many hats due to the team size and provides a high degree of autonomy.  We are based in Vaughan (Langstaff Road and Creditstone Road) and the candidate will be reporting directly to the CFO.

Essential Functions

  • Assisting with all day to day accounting operations and preparation of corporate taxes for the investment portfolio companies.
  • Preparation of required year end working papers of the investment portfolio companies for external accountants.
  • Analysis of strategic financial information and key metrics, including historical transactions.
  • Produce real-time information on the investment portfolio and the associated returns on different investment projects.
  • Analyze potential strategic acquisitions and divestitures to enhance the investment portfolio, including due diligence.
  • Performance of property management functions.
  • Assist the CEO, CFO, CLO with special projects.
  • Coordination with professional advisors (accountant, lawyer, investment advisor) on various aspects.
  • Administrative duties may be required where necessary.

The role is based approximately 50% in accounting, 25% in finance and 25% in other related duties.


  • Experience in previous accounting roles in either public accounting or industry an asset.
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field (Accounting, Finance, Mathematics).
  • MS Office, specifically Excel, use at high proficiency level.
  • Excellent written and verbal English proficiency.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of workflow with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and reliability.
  • Caseware, Caseview and Taxprep experience an asset.

This is a full-time position and business hours are generally Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Longer hours, evenings and weekend work may be required as needed. The position is available immediately with a starting salary range of $45,000 - $50,000.
