On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Aggregate Crushing Superintendent to join their team in Western Manitoba. Reporting to the President, the Aggregate Crushing Superintendent is responsible for operating, maintaining and managing all crushing operations. The Superintendent will have a solid understanding of aggregate production, manage and lead the crew and prepare daily production logs. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Oversee all crushing operations to meet company objectives and the needs of the customer
  • Co-ordinate and schedule production plans and daily workflows to maximize productivity, resources and equipment
  • Supervise crushing crews and operators to ensure performance targets are met
  • Ensure safety of staff and crew and enforce compliance with applicable company safety policies and environmental laws; promote safe work habits and provide safe working conditions  
  • Diagnose, repair, and operate crushing machinery and other related equipment and schedule regular equipment maintenance to ensure maximum efficiency and output of the crushing equipment, vehicles and heavy equipment
  • Operate heavy equipment and set crusher and screening equipment for production according to customer specifications
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and government stakeholders
  • Participate in developing future plans to work towards increased performance and lower operating costs
  • Supervise and direct the selection, training, development, appraisals and work assignments of employees

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in aggregate operations (screens and cone crushers)
  • Experience in managing the operations of a gravel pit
  • Mechanical experience with process and heavy equipment (i.e. jaw crushers, cone crushers, screens, front-end loaders, excavators, etc.) is required 
  • Hands-on mechanical repair and maintenance skills
  • Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques
  • Knowledge and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures
  • Possess an excellent work ethic, strong people skills and the ability to self-direct
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work some weekends and in all seasonal weather conditions
  • Must have valid driver’s license
