Amico is looking for an office manager to supervise, track and evaluate day-to-day activities in the accounting department. Office manager responsibilities include establishing financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting information.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department and general office
  • Developing and implementing office policies by setting up procedures and standards to guide the operation of the office
  • Assign projects and direct staff of 10 to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Responsible for ensuring office financial objectives are met by developing the annual budget for the office, preparing financial reports or statements, planning the expenditures, analyzing variances, and carrying out necessary corrections that may arise
  • Ensure proper accounting methods, policies and principles, are followed by staff
  • Monitor accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, and month and end-year process
  • Review general ledger, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, fixed asset activity, cheque runs, and payroll
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and review
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits if required
  • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions

Requirements

  • Proven working experience as an Office Manager
  • Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to direct and supervise
  • BS degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA an asset
  • Knowledge in SAP is an asset but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organizational and multitasking abilities
