Description: Working with the Director, Evaluation Services, the AD oversees the day-to-day operations of Academic Records: Document Intake – Shipping/Receiving, Imaging, and Credential Examinations units.  The AD is responsible for ensuring that WES remains the gold standard in the foreign credential evaluation field, by ensuring the quality and timely production of credential evaluation reports and correspondence for global applicants and resolving issues raised by clients during the evaluation process.  The AD provides leadership to managers and team leads to ensure accuracy and productivity is optimized.

Duties included but not limited to:

  • Ensure that managers and team leads are responsive and timely in addressing/resolving production related issues
  • Continuously monitors processes and recommends changes that enhance productivity
  • Reviews existing quality control and reporting procedures, applying improvements where applicable
  • Develops new performance metrics for staff and department as needed
  • Institute metrics to track errors and take remedial actions as necessary
  • Ensure that WES policy is communicated and adhered to
  • Ensure that staff receive initial training and re-training as necessary
  • Provide on-going guidance, support and training on managing and developing people
  • Provides recommendations for risk mitigation, continuous improvement and/or issue resolution
  • Implement effective escalation, management and resolution of deficiencies
  • Ensure appropriate corrective and preventative action plans are defined and implemented to reduce errors and increase quality and speed
  • Works with other managers/departments to resolve organizational issues
  • Maintains appropriate staffing levels
  • Ensure appropriate quality metrics are in place, are measured, and are being consistently tracked and reported on

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated people leadership skills
  • Experience and successful track record of line and cross-functional team management
  • Demonstrated strong organizational and interpersonal skills, building relationships with effective communication, influencing, conflict resolution, critical thinking and problem solving with a keen attention to detail
  • Experience communicating with both domestic and international individuals and organizations and has an awareness of cultural diversity
  • Operational experience in developing and establishing operations/production quality systems. 
  • Set high standards of performance for self and others
  • Thrives in a multi-tasking, high-pressure, high volume and fast-paced work environment – sense of urgency
  • Sensitivity to and appreciation of other cultures
