We are currently seeking an Exceptional Candidate to fill this key position at Lori Morris Design (LMD)

This role ensures that incoming materials from suppliers are in good order and properly stored, and that outgoing materials leave in the right quantities, in good condition and properly packed. Throughout the day, you may be negotiating with transportation companies over rates or service levels; preparing documents; reviewing invoices and customs documents. The successful candidate will need to look into and resolve issues on a regular basis with suppliers, customers, transportation companies and employees to ensure all required items arrive at the destination when required

Also responsible for maintaining LMD’s inventory list, receiving items at LMD, tracking item receipts at our offsite warehouses and re-packing item returns. This work supports the rest of the company by providing an accurate inventory list as well as ensuring all selected items are ready to be delivered to our installs which has a direct effect on the success of the LMD install.

A successful candidate in this role must be methodical, have great organizational skills and be able to think on their feet. LMD’s install shipping and inventory consist of an ever-changing variety of delicate and one of a kind items which need to be tracked, updated and verified on a regular basis.

Specific Responsibilities of the Position:

  • Manage and maintain the LMD inventory
  • Conducting quarterly physical counts and compiling reports to accounting
  • Analyze data to anticipate future needs
  • Coordinate inventory usage and storage requirements
  • Ensure operational profitability is not compromised
  • Work with moving companies to ensure inventory list is accurate
  • Work with 3rd part warehouses to ensure LMD deliveries are received and tracked correctly
  • Receive all delivers at LMD and storage facilities (Scarborough and Local to the LMD Office)
  • Track and follow up on all large item shipments and deliveries
  • Managing and Coordinating transportation for incoming and outgoing shipments (US, international and domestic)
  • Prepare all required customs documentations (manifests) for all outbound and inbound shipments
  • Coordinate with shipping lines, trucking companies, clearing agents, brokers, warehouses, tracking and monitoring shipments in transit 
  • Pack / Re-pack LMD return items
  • Maintain all inventory storage
  • Provide exceptional customer service to create a positive experience
  • Help with other duties as required
