Applications are invited from a motivated individual to join a multidisciplinary research training laboratory as a mass spectrometry research technician or associate at the University of Regina (UofR) Research and Innovation Centre. The candidate will work with the research team in several ongoing large-scale collaborative proteomics projects in prokaryotes and eukaryotes. The work will involve processing large-scale in house affinity purified samples using the state-of-the-art mass spectrometer, generation and analysis of mass spectrometry data, performing quantitative proteomics, data extraction and interpretation, supporting collaborative research initiatives, troubleshooting instrument related issues, and operating the proteomic platform as part of the University of Regina Proteomics and Genomics Facility.

The ideal candidate should have a Masters or PhD degree in biochemistry or a closely related field and have sufficient work experience with various mass spectrometry platforms, including the new generation Orbitrap mass spectrometer. Prior experience in mass spectrometry based proteomics especially in running the mass spectrometry samples is highly desirable. The individual will have strong verbal and written skills and the ability to work efficiently in a research team environment.
