What will you do in this role?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Optical Test Engineer to join the Optical Communication Agile Optical team.

Test and optical specification compliance and characterization are critical elements of our team. Share your expertise with other optical experts while providing leadership to your colleagues.

In this role you will enhance your valuable skills by:

  • Applying your expertise in optics to improve our test & measurement techniques;
  • Sharing your advanced knowledge of optical technologies with the team to further team growth;
  • Designing test measurement techniques to characterize critical optical parameters;
  • Designing test cases to properly validate the operation of critical product features;
  • Implement automated test scripts that improve our test coverage and the quality of our results;
  • Applying best practices and contributing to the ongoing improvement of team processes and test execution;
  • Analyzing and characterizing optical, hardware and software failures and reporting them to relevant designers using our internal process and tools.

What experience will allow you the greatest success in this role?

  • Desire to succeed and to do things right the first time;
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in active optical components;
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills;
  • Good understanding of verification test plans, test execution, results collaboration and bug reporting;
  • Basic understanding of hardware concepts;
  • Experience in software development is an asset;
  • Bachelor degree in Physics/ Electronics/Electrical/Optical Engineering or equivalent;
  • Leadership skills coupled with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
