Being on the way to develop and expand our business activities, we are looking for a professional cabinetmaker and woodworker to supervise and operate the business.

(Full-time)

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and schedule the activities of other workers and cabinetmakers
  • Requisition materials/supplies and keep track of inventory
  • Serve as liaison with vendors/suppliers to report, troubleshoot, and resolve the issues
  • Resolve problems and recommend measures to improve productivity
  • Train or arrange for training of workers
  • Ensure working environment is clean and safe
  • Set up, operate, and maintain woodworking and cabinetmaking machines and hand tools
  • Cut, shape, form, and trim materials using woodworking equipment and hand tools
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, cut lists and specifications
  • Apply plastic laminate and wood veneer using contact cement
  • Install cabinet hardware

Requirements (Our ideal candidate must have the following skills)

  • Technical/vocational certificate as qualified woodworker, carpenter, or cabinetmaker
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD to generate/modify production drawings
  • Experience operating chop/rip saws, edge-banding machines, and portable power tools
  • Ability to work with both imperial and metric units of measurement
  • At least 5-10 years of qualified cabinetmaking/woodworking experience
  • Fluent in both English and French languages

Work Conditions

  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs
  • Manual dexterity required to use power & hand tools
  • Frequently noisy working environment
  • Candidates must be willing to work extended hours and weekends, if needed

Salary

$30/hour (discussable)
