Salary:  $61,805.03- $80,590.63 annually

Regular, full time Professional Employee Association members are also entitled to 7% allowance in Lieu of Overtime Shiftwork and Standby (taken as time or money), have a 35 hour work week, and 4 weeks’ annual paid leave entitlement

The Ministry of Environment’s Environmental Standards Branch (ESB) is responsible for the design, development, implementation and evaluation of a wide array of regulatory and non-regulatory approaches to waste management and environmental protection throughout British Columbia. As the Environmental Management Officer, you are responsible for managing the development of environmental management legislation, policies and standards in the area of municipal waste management throughout British Columbia, with a preference for municipal wastewater management.

As the ideal candidate, you are a professional engineer with experience in developing policy for municipal waste management, with a preference for municipal wastewater management.  Highly skilled at balancing competing interests in decision making, you exhibit exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills when providing professional engineering and policy advice to the ministry.  You are a results oriented team player that uses a collaborative approach, is flexible and adapts well to shifting priorities.  You thrive on your excellent problem solving expertise and persuasion skills when promoting solutions and motivating stakeholders.
