You will be responsible to provide daily direction of the delivery services department. This position reports to the Branch Manager and assists in driving initiatives that contribute to long terms goals and operational excellence.


  • Collaborate with management team to improve processes, efficiencies, personnel development, training, and health and safety which ultimately result in lower operating costs
  • Improve operational processes and policies in support of the branch’s core values; operational excellence, superior customer service, and profitability 
  • Develop, maintain, and manage compliance of standard operating procedures
  • Review daily, weekly and monthly KPI’s relating to productivity and performance metrics and review with management as required
  • Provide monthly volume forecast information to branch manager and assist with prioritization, resource planning and execution
  • Increase effectiveness and efficiency of drivers through improvements in communication between clerical staff and driver fleet
  • Contribute to developing training programs and development of personnel
  • Contribute to short and long-term organizational planning and strategy as a member of the management team
  • Process mapping and continuous improvement
  • Work with recruiting manager on assessments and improvement of recruiting practices
  • Assist in the development and management of productivity standards
  • Subject matter expert in dispatching, delivery driving, OO economics

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a distribution and delivery environment
  • Experience in process mapping, process improvement and implementing best practices
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to excel in a fast paced environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style
  • Open to direction and commitment to get the job done
  • Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the business
  • Exceptional analytical skills; ability to look at situations from multiple points of view
  • Some accounting experience or knowledge would be an asset
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
