On behalf of our client The Clarke Group of Companies, we are currently searching for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for their corporate head office located in Mission, BC. The Clarke Group of Companies, manufactures and distributes high end building materials worldwide. Reporting to the President and CEO, the CFO is a key member of the management team and works closely with the team to enhance operational and financial KPI’s that support company growth.  In addition, the CFO will establish the financial reporting framework designed to support the strategic vision of the company.  

Leading the finance team, the CFO will be required to develop systems and oversee a range of cost accounting functions, including product costing and inventory for valuations required for month end closing; analysis of cost, inventory, financial performance, management reporting and continuous improvement of costing methodology.


  • Trusted advisor to CEO and executive team
  • Accountability of the organizations financial integrity including budgeting, forecasting, reporting; ensuring proper controls and processes are followed
  • Perform variance analysis to determine the financial situation of the business to identify opportunities and areas of improvement
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, guidance and constructive feedback to promote employee engagement and development
  • Prepare a comprehensive monthly reporting package for all companies, within the Clarke Group of Companies
  • Provide treasury and cash management to minimize interest cost and maximize return on any surplus funds
  • Lead, motivate and direct a team of professional staff who are committed to providing accurate and timely finance information
  • Support the CEO in the evaluation, financial modeling and due diligence related to mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and divestitures
  • Understands and mitigates key elements of the company’s risk profile
  • Takes an active role in understanding the products, services and processes to exercise due diligence on the team’s financial management practices
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, bankers, auditors, colleagues and employees
  • Learn, understand and contribute to corporate culture

Skills & Qualifications:

  • CPA designation; in good standing
  • 8-10 years in a leadership role
  • Manufacturing experience is a must
  • Excellent communication with strong oral/written skills and a willingness to share information
  • Understanding of key business drivers and fundamentals with a track record of delivering results and enhancing company values
  • Impeccable sense of integrity, character and personal values
  • Collaborative approach, strong team leader and partner to the business
