Reporting to the Residential Supervisor, Team Managers are responsible for the provision of individualized support, maintenance of a safe and comfortable home and regular access to the community for people receiving services. They are responsible for assisting with supervisory duties and work closely with staff.


  • Providing Quality Support: In a culture where people are treated with respect and dignity, provide support for skill acquisition that develops personal care, daily living and social skills of the people we care for. Assists in the planning of activities, meals, and medical appointments and cooperates with professional consultants to implement plans as directed. Transports people as needed to programs, school, work or appointments.
  • Residence/Home: Ensures each home is clean, attractive and well maintained, and supports and participates with individuals and staff to complete seasonal yard work. Conducts monthly checks of premises and reports findings to supervisor. Undertakes minor repairs to the home as appropriate.
  • Administration/Reports/Record Keeping: Assists in preparing house reports, planning and organizing staff meetings, and preparing and adjusting staff schedules. Assists the people at the residence in menu planning and shopping, ensures medications are delivered and recorded. Conducts Workplace Safety & Health House Inspections, and keeps records up to date. This role may also assist with payroll.
  • Staff Supervision: Schedule, motivate, supervise and monitor the performance of the Support Workers in the home. Responds to weekend calls regarding staffing issues or questions. Provides leadership to create a respectful team environment.
  • Professionalism: Consistently conducts oneself in a manner that fosters a spirit of cooperation and teamwork at all times, and is a role model for staff. Interact with people receiving services, families, friends & coworkers in a friendly respectful manner.


  • Certificate in Disability & Community Support with at least 2 years related experience, or a suitable combination of education and experience
  • Class 5 full Driver’s License is required
  • Certificate in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention is an asset
  • Experience working with behavioral issues is an asset
  • Current First Aid Certificate is an asset
  • Must have strong computer skills


  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Mature, organized, and able to prioritize tasks
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required
  • Ability to think & problem solve using “outside the box” approaches
  • Flexible, able to adapt to shifting priorities
  • Strong knowledge of telephone and email etiquette
  • Must be capable of performing personal care duties and lifts and transfers
  • Resourceful and creative and possess strong physical and emotional stamina
