The Provincial Court of BC sits at over 80 locations throughout the Province and hears criminal, family, youth, and civil claims as well as traffic and municipal by-law matters. The Chief Judge of the Provincial Court is appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council and is responsible for assigning Judges and Judicial Justices, and designating court facilities for the hearing of cases within the jurisdiction of the court and for providing administrative direction to Judges, Judicial Justices, and Judiciary staff. The Office of the Chief Judge (OCJ) is the administrative headquarters for the Provincial Judiciary, and is based in downtown Vancouver.

As a Technical Analyst, you are accountable to the Manager IT Services and Strategic Planning for the provision of second and third level end user support for the Provincial Court Judges, Judicial Justices, and judicial staff throughout the province. As the senior technical member of the systems team, this position provides technical leadership and guidance to the other members of the systems support team. The position is primarily responsible for the development and maintenance of the Provincial Judiciary Windows server infrastructure and end point client devices (computers, printers, peripherals).

Qualifications for this role include:

  • Completion of a 2 year technical diploma or equivalent in computer science
  • Minimum of 3 years directly related experience including experience working in an infrastructure support role; or equivalent of education, experience and training. Preference may be given to candidates with 4 or more years of directly related experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of:
    • Current hardware technologies, including reassembly, imaging and configuring of computers, and printers; hardware troubleshooting techniques;
    • Current Windows Server technologies, virtual server environments (Hyper-V), and best practices;
    • Networking technologies and best practices;
    • Active Directory, Group Polices, Powershell, remote access, MDM, and backup & replication (Veeam);
