We are a Toronto-based charity whose vision is to provide character education for children and youth of inner-city schools in Toronto focusing on anti-bullying through arts and leadership training that empowers them to create positive change in their communities. We are looking for new program facilitators to join our dynamic team! We are looking for an enthusiastic team player with strong leadership skills to help direct our anti-bullying, character education program for children and youth, from grades 1 to 12. The Program Facilitator will run art and design-based activities in a classroom of students. Facilitators should enjoy working with children, be able to multi-task and have excellent oral communication skills. All program facilitators will be required to undergo a police check and will be trained in our child safety policy.


  • Deliver presentation and engage children in program activities in a highly effective manner
  • Set up and clean up activities as required, which includes showing up early and staying later than scheduled program to complete these tasks 
  • Communicate with teachers, school administration, volunteers, and support staff in a professional manner to address any questions and/or concerns, plan for future workshops, and conclude the program
  • Coordinate the pick-up and/or purchase of required materials in a timely manner. Expenses will be reimbursed with submission of receipts.
  • Lead Thinking Forward and/or parent volunteers by providing direction on their roles and responsibilities
  • Follow appropriate policies and procedures of Thinking Forward’s Plan to Protect Child Safety policy and Code of Conduct to ensure the program operates within Thinking Forward’s mission, vision and values


Applicants must:

  • Have a valid Vulnerable Sector Screening  (police reference check) completed in the city of their residence
  • Be available during school hours
  • Be reliable, patient, responsible, and adaptable
  • Have great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be able to work with small groups of children independently
  • Have a valid driver’s license and access to their own vehicle as transport of materials from school to school is required

Rate of pay is $25/hour

Bachelor of Education or background in the arts and previous experience working with children and youth is an asset.
